As per the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU)'s Worldwide Cost of Living 2021 survey, Damascus in Syria is the world's cheapest city to reside in. Tripoli (Libya), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Tunis (Tunisia), and Almaty (Kazakhstan) are also among the top five cheapest cities. Pakistan's Karachi is in the sixth position and India's Ahmedabad (in Gujarat) is ranked seventh. Tel Aviv exceeds the rankings for the first time ever, presenting it as the most costly city in the world to live in.
