In addition to being broadcast across all states of the country, the eagerly anticipated 'Pran-Pratishtha' (consecration) of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, scheduled for January 22, will also be live-streamed at the iconic Times Square in New York City, as per sources informed India Today. The ceremony will also be telecast at various Indian embassies overseas. On this historic occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address Ram bhakts (devotees) both in India and abroad.
Meanwhile, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced plans to broadcast the consecration ceremony live at the booth level nationwide. According to sources, BJP workers have been directed to set up large screens for the live telecast of the Shri Ram Consecration at the booth level, allowing the general public to witness the ceremony and have a darshan of Shri Ram Lala.
Vedic rituals for the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla (infant Lord Ram) are scheduled to commence on January 16, a week before the main ceremony. Prime Minister Modi is reportedly closely monitoring the preparations, seeking detailed information on the rituals and rules he is required to follow during the ceremony.
PM Modi has committed to observing all religious protocols and procedures in reverence to the occasion on January 22. In a conversation with India Today TV, Ram temple construction committee chief Nripendra Mishra mentioned that PM Modi has asked the Ram Mandir trust for any specific holy adherence that he has to abide by before performing the Pran-Pratishtha.
A 51-inch tall Krishna Shila (Shyam Varn) idol of Lord Ram has been carefully chosen for the upcoming Pran-Pratishtha ceremony. The idol, resplendent in Shyam Varn (dark hue), symbolizes divinity, royalty, and the pure innocence of a child. Before undergoing the Yagopavit sanskar, the idol of Lord Ram will be showcased on a lotus-shaped platform within the Garbh Grah. Additionally, the old Ram Lalla statue will be placed before the new one, called "Utsav Ram," and both statues will be placed in the new Ram Mandir after January 16. PM Modi is expected to open the eye cover of the Lord Ram statue on January 22.
