Social media posts by Himani Narwal about guns, glitz, and affairs

The shocking murder of 22-year-old Himani Narwal, a young Congress worker, activist, and aspiring politician, has triggered an outcry across Haryana and beyond. Her body, gruesomely discovered stuffed inside a large blue suitcase near a flyover in Rohtak, has raised serious concerns about law and order in the state. The brutality of the crime, coupled with Narwal’s high-profile social media presence and political affiliations, has turned her murder into a major political and social issue. The investigation has taken multiple twists, with allegations of blackmail, extortion, and personal betrayal emerging as possible motives behind the crime.

The police swiftly arrested a suspect, 30-year-old Sachin, who owns a mobile shop and reportedly shared a close relationship with Narwal. He has confessed to killing her, claiming he was being blackmailed for large sums of money. According to police reports, Sachin and Himani had initially connected through Facebook, which later developed into a relationship. However, things turned sour when Narwal allegedly pressured him for more money. On March 1, after a heated argument at her house, Sachin strangled her using a mobile charger wire. In an attempt to cover up the crime, he packed her body in a suitcase along with a blood-stained quilt cover, stole her valuables—including jewelry, mobile phone, and laptop—and fled. He later returned, hired an auto-rickshaw, and dumped the suitcase in Rohtak’s Sampla area before escaping by bus.

Narwal was not just an ordinary social media user but a politically ambitious young woman who actively engaged with political leaders, influencers, and celebrities. Her Instagram and Facebook accounts portrayed a life of glamour, activism, and deep political involvement. She operated multiple social media profiles where she posted videos of her travels, dance performances, and luxurious lifestyle. Her photos often featured her posing with prominent Congress leaders, including former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Deepender Hooda, and even Rahul Gandhi, whom she was seen walking hand-in-hand with during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. She also shared selfies with actors such as Jaideep Ahlawat and TV personalities like Yash Tank, Gajendra Chauhan, and Juhi Babbar.

Her social media presence was extensive, with at least three Instagram and two Facebook accounts, amassing thousands of followers. Many of her reels garnered significant engagement, some reaching up to 5 lakh views. She frequently shared glimpses of her daily life, from attending parties and visiting nightclubs in Gurgaon's Sector 29 to traveling to popular destinations like Kasauli and Goa. However, her personal posts about her family were relatively fewer. Occasionally, she would mention her brother, referring to him as “Lieutenant Sahib” in the Indian Navy. In another instance, she flaunted a diamond ring she had purchased for her maternal grandmother.

Narwal’s professional life was equally dynamic. She claimed to have worked with multinational brands such as Nissan, Hyundai Worldwide, and Mahindra SUV, all while pursuing a career in politics. She was last employed at Omniglobe International, managing her job alongside her political engagements. Her dedication to Congress was evident through her active participation in party events. Former Indian Youth Congress chief Srinivas BV confirmed that she had served as the District Vice President of Youth Congress (Rohtak Rural) during his tenure, emphasizing her commitment to the organization.

The brutality of her murder has ignited a fierce political debate, with opposition leaders blaming the state government for failing to ensure women’s safety. Senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda condemned the incident, calling it a clear indicator of Haryana’s deteriorating law and order situation. “This is an extremely painful incident. Haryana is now ranked number one in crimes against women. The government must take swift action and ensure a thorough investigation,” he stated.

BJP leaders have also weighed in on the matter. Haryana BJP MP Kiran Chaudhary expressed her deep sorrow and demanded the strictest punishment for the perpetrator. “This is a very tragic incident. I strongly condemn such acts of violence. The criminals involved must face severe consequences at the earliest,” she said. Meanwhile, BJP’s Haryana in charge Dr. Satish Poonia took a direct jab at Congress, challenging the party to respond to the allegations made by Narwal’s mother. “Himani’s mother has made serious accusations that need to be looked into. If Congress has the moral courage, they should answer these questions,” he asserted.

Narwal’s mother, devastated by the tragedy, has cast doubt on the investigation, suspecting that her daughter’s murder may have been orchestrated by someone within the party. Her claims have added another layer of intrigue to the case, fueling speculations about political involvement or cover-ups.

The circumstances surrounding Himani Narwal’s death highlight the dark intersections of politics, crime, and social media. Her rise to prominence as a social media influencer and political activist exposed her to both admiration and potential dangers. The case serves as a grim reminder of the risks that come with digital fame, power dynamics, and personal relationships in the modern age.

As the police continue their investigation, the nation watches closely, demanding justice for the young woman whose promising life was tragically cut short. Whether this was a case of personal vendetta, financial dispute, or something more sinister remains to be seen. One thing is certain—Himani Narwal’s murder will not be forgotten anytime soon.
