At the trailer launch of Son of Sardaar 2 on July 11, Ajay Devgn addressed the online buzz surrounding his now-viral dance move from the song Pehla Tu Duja Tu. Brushing off the mockery, he asked fans to appreciate the effort, admitting that even performing that step was tough for him.
He said, “I don't know about people. But I will tell you — aap log mera mazak uda rahe ho, lekin mere liye yeh bhi karna bahut mushkil tha. Woh maine kar diya, uska aap log shukar kariye.” (You all may be making fun of me, but even doing this was difficult. Be thankful I managed to do even that much.)
The finger movement from the track sparked a flood of online memes, with many jokingly calling the choreography “graveyard stiff.” But true to form, Devgn maintained his trademark cool.
Adding to the light-hearted response, wife Kajol teased him by calling him “one of the smartest dancers in Bollywood,” joking, “Even his fingers have swag!”
Despite the playful trolling, the trailer has received a positive response. Set against the backdrop of Scotland, Son of Sardaar 2 sees Devgn reprise his role as Jassi in a vibrant blend of comedy, action, and emotion.
The film also holds special significance as it features the late Mukul Dev’s final performance. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and co-produced by Devgn, the film is set to release on July 25, 2025.
With its Punjabi humour, meme-worthy moments, and Devgn’s signature stoicism, the film is shaping up to be a major highlight of the season.
