Gujarat Police: Arif, Zahir, and friends pelted stones yesterday in Garba



"The town Sarpanch (head) had managed Garba (a famous Gujarati folk dance) at a temple. A group from the Muslim community attempted to stop it from bearing place," the news agency quoted Bajpai as speaking. 

The mob pelted rocks and at least seven persons, including a Gram Rakshak Dal (GRD) jawan and a policeman, were wounded, he said. "The FIR states a mob of 150 people, including women, attacked the group serving Garba by pelting stones. 

As per the FIR, 43 of the charged have been identified by their name," the official stated. The arrested accused were secured under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) related to the endeavor to murder, rioting, illegal assembly, and voluntarily driving hurt, among others.
