He will open the 26th National Youth Festival on Thursday at the Hubballi-Dharwad Railway Sports Ground to commemorate this day. The festival's theme is "Viksit Yuva - Viksit Bharat."
The festival, which started on Friday and runs through Monday, is put on by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in association with the Karnataka government.
Today's festival will be attended by notable figures like Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, and Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi and Anurag Singh Thakur.
Delegates from 28 states and 8 union territories will attend the festival, according to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, to display their talents.
"All five days will feature a range of cultural and athletic events. The national youth festival is being hosted in north Karnataka for the first time, and it will encourage young people from all walks of life to get involved "said he.
People are welcome to stand on either side of the road from the airport all the way up to the site, he continued, even though the PM won't be doing a roadshow during the visit.
PM Modi, who will depart for New Delhi when the inauguration ceremony is done, will address the gathering of more than 30,000 youth.
According to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the festival's activities will include panel discussions on timely subjects like student-centric governance and Digital India, adventure sports competitions, traditional sports exhibitions, and competitive cultural events in which troupes from different states will compete.
