Today, PM Modi will unveil Rs 16,000 cr worth of infrastructure in Karnataka

 


On Sunday, during his visit to Karnataka, which is close to holding elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay the cornerstones for projects worth over Rs 16,000 crore.

Prior to the May Karnataka Assembly elections, the prime minister will inaugurate a number of development initiatives during his sixth visit to the state.

On the state's agenda under PM Modi are:

At Shree Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Station, he will lay the cornerstone for IIT Dharwad and the "longest" railroad platform in the entire world. The Guinness Book of World Records recently acknowledged the record. The 1,507 m long platform was constructed for around Rs 20 crore.

Later, at around 3:15 PM, he will inaugurate and lay the cornerstone for a number of development efforts in Hubballi-Dharwad. He will first dedicate and lay the cornerstone for important road projects in Mandya.

The PM will also lay the cornerstone for the four-lane motorway between Mysuru and Kushalnagar. The project, which spans 92 kilometers, would be built for about Rs 4,130 crore.

On his visit to the Vokkaliga-dominated region, PM Modi will perform a roadshow in Mandya and address a sizable crowd at Gejjalagere in Maddur Taluk after formally launching the projects.

IIT Dharwad will be dedicated to the nation by him. He also lay the institute's foundation stone in February 2019. Around 850 crore rupees were spent on the development of the institute.

In an effort to improve connectivity in the area, PM Modi will also speak to a sizable crowd at the occasion and dedicate the electrification of the Hosapete - Hubballi - Tinaighat portion. Also, the prime minister will dedicate and officially launch a number of Hubballi-Dharwad smart city initiatives.

These developments are expected to cost roughly Rs 520 crore in total.

The Dharwad Multi Village Water Supply System and Jayadeva Hospital and Research Centre, both of which will be built at a cost of over Rs 1,040 crore and will offer tertiary cardiac treatment to the local population, respectively, will have their foundations laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to the press release, PM Modi will also lay the cornerstone for the Tupparihalla Flood Damage Control Project, which would cost roughly Rs 150 crore to build.
