Farooq Abdullah on the deleted chapters about the Mughals

Farooq Abdullah, a former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, commented on the omission of Mughal chapters from NCERT textbooks by saying that history cannot be rewritten.

History cannot be altered. You have the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort, and other historical landmarks," Abdullah remarked.

The chapters on the Mughal Empire were removed when the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) changed its textbooks for several levels, including the history textbooks for Class 12. All nationwide schools that use the NCERT curriculum would be affected by the revisions.

The previous chief minister also addressed China's earlier this week made the announcement to "standardize" the names of 11 locations in Arunachal Pradesh. This hasn't only happened now, either. China has always asserted that Arunachal Pradesh is its province. But India isn't prepared to accept this assertion, according to Abdullah.

In a move that has further exacerbated the mistrust between New Delhi and Beijing at a time when bilateral relations are at their worst in decades, China renamed 11 locations in Arunachal Pradesh, which it refers to as South Tibet.

Since 2017, China has unilaterally changed the names of peaks of mountains, rivers, and residential areas in Arunachal Pradesh three times.
