'Suck my tongue,' 'beautiful woman,' "Nehru and Partition," and other controversial statements by the Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama apologized to the youngster and his family on Monday after a video surfaced showing him kissing a young boy on the lips.

"A video clip has been circulating that shows a recent meeting when a young boy asked His Holiness the Dalai Lama if he could give him a hug," the Dalai Lama wrote in a tweet.

He continued, "His Holiness wishes to apologize for any hurt his words may have caused to the boy and his family, as well as to his many friends across the world."

Nevertheless, this was not the first time the Dalai Lama's comments caused a scandal.

The most recent instance was when the exiled spiritual head of Tibet urged a little kid to suck his tongue. The boy leaned in to pay his respects and the Dalai Lama kissed him on the lips in the video. The spiritual authority of Tibet soon appeared, pointing to his mouth and sticking his tongue out.

In the footage, the Dalai Lama can be heard asking the young kid, "Can you suck my tongue?"

Internet users got into a fight over the video, labeling the spiritual leader's actions as "disgusting" and "creepy." Later, the Dalai Lama expressed regret to the boy's family.
