Congress presents free energy, a 500 rupee petrol cylinder, & a pension plan in MP

The Congress party has made nearly identical pledges it made in Karnataka for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly election in an effort to maintain the winning run established in the Karnataka Assembly elections.

The great old party has promised benefits for families, women, seniors, and farmers. Cooking gas cylinders would be provided by Congress for Rs 500, or less than half the going rate. The party has stated that it will offer women in the state a monthly payment of Rs 1500.

Up to 200 units would have their electricity prices cut by 50% under the party's promise, and up to 100 units will be provided at no cost. Additionally, it has pledged to implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in a manner similar to other states governed by Congress, such as Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The party posted the promises on its social media account and claimed they had already been fulfilled in Karnataka and would be fulfilled in Madhya Pradesh.

In its manifesto prior to the Karnataka elections, Congress reaffirmed its five pledges: Gruha Jyothi, Gruha Lakshmi, Anna Bhagya, Yuva Nidhi, and Shakti.

The party promised to offer each woman who is the head of the family Rs 2,000 as part of the Gruha Lakshmi scheme. The party pledged to take into account extending the OPS for government employees eligible for pensions who began working after 2006. In Karnataka, Congress pledged to provide 200 free electricity units, 10 kg of free grains per month for the less fortunate, and a rise in the milk subsidy for farmers from Rs. 5 to Rs. 7.
