In order to score his second consecutive hundred in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Shubman Gill imitated Virat Kohli on Sunday. In the most recent league match between Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore, both of the star hitters accomplished the feat.
Gill sped to his half-century in just 29 balls, becoming the first GT player to get a hundred in IPL history. He needed an additional 23 balls to reach his second straight hundred after hitting his first IPL century against SunRisers Hyderabad.
As GT defeated RCB by six wickets, Gill reached his hundred by striking the decisive six in the penultimate over.
It's interesting to note that Gill and Kohli both reached their first hundreds against SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2023. Virat Kohli hushed the crowd earlier in the day at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium with his 60-ball century against GT. Additionally, it was Kohli's seventh IPL hundred in the competition's history.
With his seventh century in the competition's history, Kohli surpassed Chris Gayle of the RCB team's record for the most hundreds. Additionally, Kohli joined Shikhar Dhawan and Jos Buttler as the only other batters in the IPL to score consecutive hundreds of runs. In addition to scoring his second consecutive hundred in IPL 2023, Kohli also amassed 600+ runs for the third time in the competition, having previously done so in 2013 and 2016. Only KL Rahul (in 2018; 2020; 2021; and 2022) has accomplished it four times.
I felt fantastic. Many people believe that my T20 cricket game is getting worse, but I don't agree. I want to fill in the gaps first, then, towards the end, the larger ones. You must be able to read situations and adapt accordingly. In the interview with the announcer in the middle of the inning, Kohli stated, "I feel extremely happy about my game right now.
