The patterns have become clear, and the Congress appears to be in a position to take power in Karnataka. The JD(S)'s hopes of acting as the kingmaker and the BJP's dreams of taking back control in the southern state have both been crushed.
Data from the Election Commission (EC) showed that after more than five hours of vote counting on Saturday, the Congress had won or was ahead in 130 seats. In 66 seats, the BJP was in the lead, and in 22, the JD(S).
In Karnataka, the Congress would be able to establish the government without assistance from any other party thanks to this. The 224-member House's magic number is 113.
The setback was acknowledged by Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who also announced that the BJP's Karnataka branch would be reorganized.
"We (the BJP) are unable to meet the standard. will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the gaps and shortcomings at all levels. We will reorganize the party and perform well in the Lok Sabha elections, according to Bommai.
At 8 am, counting started at 36 polling locations throughout the state. On May 10, Karnataka held elections to choose the 224 members of its Legislative Assembly. The BJP won 104 seats in the 2018 Assembly elections, while the Congress won 80 seats. 37 seats were won by the JD(S).
