In a car-and-truck collision on Sunday in the Kushtagi taluk of this city, six persons, including two children and a mother, perished there.
The incident took place on Sunday night on the national highway close to the village of Kalkeri. Initial reports claim that all of the deceased were from Vijayapura, according to police officials. They further claim that the automobile was traveling from Vijayapura to Bengaluru while the lorry was traveling from Tamil Nadu to Gujarat.
They claimed that the car appeared to have collided head-on with the bottom portion of the lorry's front side due to the impact of the accident.
According to officials, a crane was employed to remove the car, and the remains were transported to a hospital after a case was filed.
In an effort to comfort the families of the deceased, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has promised a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for each.
