In Delhi's Rohini neighborhood, Sahil, the person responsible for the murder of 16-year-old Sakshi, was furious at the victim's decision to break up with him. According to a preliminary investigation, he was enraged because the two had stopped talking, which eventually prompted him to viciously attack and kill her.
Sakshi, a 16-year-old girl, was allegedly stabbed more than 20 times by Sahil on a crowded street. She was also severely injured by him after being struck with a cement slab.
The incident was captured on CCTV, and the police are awaiting the results of the final autopsy.
On Monday, Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh saw the arrest of Sahil by Delhi Police, who had tracked a call from his aunt to his father. During their inquiry, the police also examined security camera footage and spoke with the victim's family.
"Police investigated the local CCTV footage during the inquiry and spoke with the victim's family, who claimed that she was seen walking around with a boy by the name of Sahil. When we arrived at his home, the boy had already left, according to the police, who were quoted by PTI.
After the event, the accused, Sahil, turned off his phone and took a bus to his aunt's home in Bulandshahr.
Sahil acknowledged having dated the victim since June 2021 when he was questioned. The victim had spent the previous 15 days lodging with a friend named Neetu.
The day before she was slain, Sahil and the girl had a dispute after they had broken up their communication. She wanted to quit the relationship, but Sahil wanted to get back together with her.
According to a senior police official reported by PTI, "She eventually stopped talking to him and wanted to end her relationship with him completely, but he kept approaching her and wanted to reunite with her."
'Praveen' was tattooed on the girl's hand, which the police also found. The youngster was on her way to a friend's son's birthday party when Sahil stopped her and repeatedly stabbed her.
