Siddaramaiah Takes Oath As CM, DK Shivakumar As His Deputy In Grand Ceremony

At the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, May 20, senior Congress figure Siddaramaiah and Karnataka deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar both took the oath of office. At the swearing-in event, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot gave both leaders the oath of office and confidentiality.

In addition to Dr. G. Parameshwara, KH Muniyappa, KJ George, and MB Patil, the newly elected Karnataka government's cabinet ministers also took their oaths of office.

In order to discuss all potential candidates for induction into the government and formally invite the Congress high command to the swearing-in ceremony on Saturday, Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar met with Sonia Gandhi on Friday.

The visit took place the day after Siddaramaiah was formally elected as the leader of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) at its meeting on Thursday. He then went to the governor's office where he was given the opportunity to establish the next Karnataka government.
