Angry over a mobile app download delay, a Delhi dad stabs his 23-year-old son

In Delhi's Madhu Vihar, a father stabbed his 23-year-old son after the latter got involved in an argument between the man and his wife over installing a mobile app.

Ashok Singh, the 64-year-old accused, is a former senior manager with Engineers India Limited. He resided at IP Extension with his wife and son Aditya Singh. According to a senior police officer, Aditya works as a computer engineer in Gurugram.

Ashok had recently bought a flat in Gurugram, and the police claim that he urged his wife Manju Singh to download an app so he could use it to make a payment.

When the software took a while to download, Ashok became irate and got into a dispute with his wife.

As they battled, Aditya stepped in to stop it. Ashok allegedly lost his cool and stabbed the man in the chest with a kitchen knife.

Aditya was admitted to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital for treatment of two wounds above the ribs before being released.

According to the police, Ashok has a complaint filed against him under section 324 of the IPC (willfully inflicting harm using harmful objects or methods).
