The Karnataka govt will look into its land transfers to organizations linked to the RSS

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-affiliated organizations that were given land by the previous BJP government in Karnataka are among those that the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in the state intends to review.

All land allocations to organizations connected to the RSS would be scrutinized, according to state minister Dinesh Gundu Rao. He suggested that giving hundreds of acres of land to entities connected to the RSS will be considered.

He declared, "Some of the tenders issued by the past Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government have been annulled, and others will be investigated.

"We'll look into this in the next Cabinet meeting," state minister Krishna Byre Gowda said. In the final few months of the BJP government's term, the land was hastily distributed to numerous organizations. It shouldn't be like that.

In retaliation, the BJP urged the government to consider land grants beginning in 1947 rather than simply from 2019 to 2023. BC Nagesh, a former minister of education, remarked, "Let them look into all allocations, why only BJP tenure?"

In response to reports that the state government in Karnataka was considering lifting the ban on the hijab in schools and pre-university colleges, Congress leader Priyank Kharge said that the newly elected state government would review all orders and bills that were "regressive to the image of the state" days before the ministers' comments.

"We will review all executive orders, government orders, and bills that are regressive to the image of Karnataka," he had stated.
