Police stated on Thursday that Manoj Sane, who is accused of killing his live-in spouse Saraswati Vaidya, sliced her body into numerous pieces and placed them in three buckets and containers in his kitchen. They also said that he cooked and minced some of the pieces before surreptitiously discarding them.
According to Jayant Bajbale, the Mira-Bhayander Vasai Virar police's deputy commissioner of police (zone 1), "Some body parts from the kitchen area have been seized and sent to Sir JJ Hospital in Mumbai for forensic analysis."
In order to stop the stink from spreading, Sane, 56, also applied oil to the bodily parts, according to the police. Sane had sliced the body into more than 20 pieces, a top official informed The Indian Express.
Police added that Sane had used an electric cutter to chop the body into pieces in the lavatory, however, they had not yet determined his motivation. The cutter has been found.
Only Vaidya's feet and a few other body parts were discovered when police on Wednesday evening broke into flat 704 in J-wing of the Geeta Aakashdeep Cooperative Housing Society in Geeta Nagar, Phase-7.
Following Sane's arrest, police were able to find the additional body parts. Sane's neighbors claimed they had witnessed him feeding stray dogs, something they claimed he had never done before. Additionally, they claimed to have heard a spray coming from the unit. The claims are still being verified by police.
According to the police, Vaidya first encountered Sane in 2014 at his ration store. According to insiders, the couple moved into the flat three years ago but refused to interact with the neighbors. Police said there was not much furniture on the property and that their door had no number plate. They previously resided in Borivali.
Sane doesn't have a family, but according to the sources, his cousins live in Borivali. Since May 29, his ration store has been closed.
Sane was detained in accordance with Indian Penal Code Sections 201 (evidence destruction) and 302 (murder). Police would ask a Thane court for his 14-day imprisonment.
According to the police, Sane had acknowledged that they had previously engaged in domestic violence. The sources claimed that one of the reasons they constantly quarrelled with one another was because their financial position was not favorable.
