Adityanath: Ravana, Kansa failed to destroy Sanatana Dharma; would he cause harm to it

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in a statement on Thursday, emphasized that the Sanatan Dharma has withstood numerous attacks in the past and will continue to remain impervious to any attempts by power-seeking "parasitic creatures."

Adityanath's declaration comes amid a recent controversy sparked by DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin's alleged anti-Sanatan Dharma remarks.

In a concise four-line verse shared in an X post, Adityanath conveyed his sentiments: "The Sanatan that Ravana's arrogance failed to erase, the Sanatan that Kansa's roar failed to shake, and the Sanatan that Babur and Aurangzeb's atrocities could not annihilate, will that Sanatan be erased by these petty power-hungry parasitic creatures." He accompanied this verse with a video of his statement.

He made these remarks during a cultural program at the Police Lines, celebrating the occasion of Janmashtami.

Without explicitly naming Stalin, Adityanath criticized anyone who pointed a finger at the Sanatan Dharma, characterizing it as a malicious attempt to disrupt humanity. He likened Sanatan Dharma to a source of energy, much like the Sun. Adityanath remarked that attempting to defame it is as futile as spitting at the Sun, as it will naturally rebound upon the person who does so.

Taking a dig at opposition parties, the Chief Minister predicted that future generations would be ashamed of their actions. He emphasized the importance of taking pride in India's traditions.

Adityanath recounted historical attempts to undermine Sanatan Dharma, noting that in every era, there have been efforts to distort the truth. He cited examples of Ravana, Hiranyakashyap, and Kansa, all of whom met their downfall due to their malicious attempts. He stressed that Sanatan Dharma embodies eternal truth and is impervious to harm.

On the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, Adityanath extended his wishes and highlighted Lord Krishna's role as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, sent to establish religion, truth, and justice.
