Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has taken action regarding the complaints raised by members concerning the conduct of BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri, who allegedly used derogatory language targeting BSP's Danish Ali. Sources indicate that Speaker Birla has referred this matter to the Privileges Committee.
The issue arose when Danish Ali, along with several other opposition MPs, including Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury from the Congress and Kanimozhi from the DMK, called for action against Ramesh Bidhuri. However, certain BJP parliamentarians, including Nishikant Dubey, argued that Danish Ali had provoked the South Delhi MP with his statements during his parliamentary address. They urged the Speaker to investigate this aspect as well.
Sources reveal that all these complaints have been forwarded to the Privileges Committee, which is chaired by BJP MP Sunil Kumar Singh.
Nishikant Dubey expressed gratitude to the Speaker for taking this step and sending the matter to the committee. He noted that this was made possible because the BJP holds a majority in the Lok Sabha. Dubey cited previous incidents to emphasize that similar issues had not been investigated or resulted in any punitive measures.
