Day 1 box office receipts for The Great Indian Family: Vicky Kaushal's movie brings in Rs. 1.40 crore

Vicky Kaushal has made a return to the silver screen with his latest film, 'The Great Indian Family.' However, the film's opening day performance fell short of expectations, with early estimates indicating a collection of approximately Rs 1.40 crore. The film's overall occupancy rate hovered around 10.09%, which may pose a challenge unless it manages to generate positive word-of-mouth buzz. In contrast, Vicky's previous release, 'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,' directed by Laxman Utekar and co-starring Sara Ali Khan, earned an impressive Rs 5.49 crore on its opening day.

During an interview, Vicky shared his thoughts on the film and what drew him to his character, Bhajan Kumar. He expressed, "The most endearing aspect of this film is that after watching it, the audience will return home with their families, wearing smiles on their faces as they discuss their own family dynamics. That's precisely what happened to me when I first heard the film's script."

'The Great Indian Family' has been directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, known for his work on films like 'Tashan,' 'Dhoom 3,' and 'Thugs of Hindostan.' In addition to this project, Vicky will also be starring in director Meghna Gulzar's upcoming film 'Sam Bahadur,' which narrates the inspiring tale of India's war hero and the first Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw.
