In Tamil Nadu's Thiruvarur district, a distressing incident unfolded involving a history-sheeter who met a tragic end upon returning from Thiruvarur court. Onan Senthil, who had just concluded a court appearance and was accompanied by his legal counsel, found himself subjected to a fatal assault by an assailant group, resulting in his gruesome demise. Additionally, one of his lawyers also became a victim of this violent attack.
The legal community in Kumbakonam expressed their outrage by organizing a roadblock protest, vehemently condemning the assault on the lawyer and vehemently demanding the swift apprehension of the individuals responsible for this heinous act.
The unfortunate incident transpired when Senthil, along with his legal representatives Agilan and Bharathiraja, was journeying back home after his court appearance in Thiruvarur. Tragically, their vehicle was intercepted by a gang that proceeded to forcibly remove Senthil from the car, subjecting him to a brutal hacking that resulted in his untimely demise. Regrettably, the violence did not spare Senthil's lawyer, Agilan, who was also assaulted during the ordeal. Thankfully, bystanders came to Agilan's aid, rescuing him from further harm, and promptly transporting him to Thiruvarur Government Hospital.
The Kudavasal police swiftly arrived at the scene of the crime, and the body of the deceased was subsequently sent for a thorough autopsy. It is important to note that Senthil had a number of pending cases associated with his name within the jurisdiction of the Valangaiman police.
This tragic incident marks the second brutal murder within a short span of time, following a similarly horrifying incident on Sunday, where four members of a family were brutally slain in Palladam due to a dispute revolving around financial matters.
The authorities are actively pursuing further investigations into this distressing matter to bring those responsible to justice.
