Khalistani separatist and Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has recently disseminated an audio message in which he urges the Kashmiri Muslim populace residing in the Valley to embark on a journey to the heart of the nation's capital, New Delhi, with the intention of causing disruptions during the upcoming G20 Summit scheduled for September 9 and 10.
In addition to this plea, Pannun has also called upon individuals to partake in a procession leading to Pragati Maidan, the designated venue for the summit, following the observance of Friday prayers. Furthermore, he has issued a menacing ultimatum, vowing to unfurl the emblematic Khalistani flag at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.
These developments unfolded shortly after several incidents where various metro stations throughout Delhi fell victim to the defacement of pro-Khalistan graffiti. Consequently, law enforcement authorities took swift action, detaining two individuals affiliated with the SFJ who were suspected of being involved in the dissemination of anti-India slogans. Authorities assert that these slogans were inscribed under the directive of Gurupatwant Singh Pannu.
The slogans, which prominently included phrases such as 'Delhi Banega Khalistan' and 'Khalistan Referendum Zindabad,' were discovered adorning the walls of multiple metro stations, including those situated in Punjabi Bagh, Shivaji Park, Madipur, Paschim Vihar, Udyog Nagar, Maharaja Surajmal Stadium, and Nangloi, all of which are located in the western region of Delhi.
In light of these events, it has become a matter of concern for authorities who believe that Pannun's audio message indicates his affiliations with the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) and their overarching K2 (Kashmir-Khalistan) agenda.
Regarding the imminent G20 Summit in Delhi, the leaders of the G20 forum are poised to gather in the Indian capital for a significant two-day event. Notably, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin are exceptions to this gathering. This marks a historic moment for India, as it is the first instance of the G20 Summit being hosted in the country.
In light of the heightened security risks associated with this event, elaborate security measures have been implemented, encompassing the deployment of approximately 130,000 security personnel. Their mandate includes ensuring the prevention of any attempts at infiltration, acts of terrorism, or sabotage, as confirmed by the Delhi Police. Additionally, authorities are set to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) modules to fortify security measures at the various venues involved in the summit, thereby ensuring a watertight security apparatus for the occasion.
