In a tragic incident that unfolded in Hong Kong, a dog met a heart-wrenching fate as it was strangled to death when the elevator doors inadvertently closed on its leash. This unfortunate incident occurred in Kennedy Town, where a 46-year-old domestic helper was walking three dogs. According to a report from the South China Morning Post, the dog tragically lost its life in a desperate attempt to escape the elevator, just moments before the doors shut.

Regrettably, this incident marks the second such occurrence in the city within the past three months, shedding light on the pressing need for heightened safety awareness.

The distressing incident transpired on a Tuesday. The domestic helper had taken her trio of canine companions for a stroll in Kennedy Town and was in the process of returning to their residence, located in a 23-story building. As they waited on the ground floor for the elevator, the sequence of events leading to this heartrending tragedy unfolded.

The South China Morning Post quoted an inside source, saying, "As the lift doors opened, she brought the dogs inside. When the doors were closing, one of the dogs suddenly ran out."

In a cruel twist of fate, the closing elevator doors ensnared the dog's leash, leading to a horrifying ordeal as the animal was dragged upward.

The tragic situation came to the attention of a vigilant security guard who witnessed the distressing scene and promptly alerted the police. Amidst the frantic efforts to rescue the dog, the domestic helper sustained hand injuries. She was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention.

Subsequently, an investigation into the incident was launched, with authorities diligently examining the circumstances surrounding the dog's tragic demise.
