On September 19, the special session of Parliament will convene in a new building

Parliament's upcoming special session, slated to commence on the 18th of September, is scheduled to kick off within the historic edifice, as reported by the news agency ANI, which has cited inside sources.

However, as we move forward to September 19th, marking the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, parliamentary activities are set to migrate to the newly-inaugurated Parliament building, a monumental event presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28th of this year, according to the aforementioned report.

In an announcement made over the weekend, the secretariats of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha conveyed to the news agency PTI that the forthcoming parliamentary session would convene without the traditional Question Hour or any discussions pertaining to private members' matters. This deviation from the usual proceedings was emphasized.

Additionally, it was disclosed by the secretariats that this session, comprising a total of five sittings, would provide members with a provisional calendar in due course, detailing the schedule of events separately.

The unveiling of this "special session" of Parliament, slated to span from September 18th to the 22nd, was officially disclosed by the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Pralhad Joshi, during an announcement last Thursday. It is worth noting that the precise agenda for this session was deliberately withheld, sparking considerable conjecture among political circles.

In a statement on X, Minister Joshi expressed his anticipation for meaningful deliberations and debates within Parliament during the auspicious "Amrit Kaal."

It is worth mentioning that typically, three distinct parliamentary sessions are conducted each year, namely the Budget session, Monsoon session, and Winter session.

Subsequently, it came to light that the government was in the process of establishing a high-level committee tasked with examining and offering recommendations on the feasibility of simultaneous elections. This development further fueled speculations that the special session could potentially mark the culmination of the current Lok Sabha's tenure.

Moreover, preparations are underway for a group photograph featuring Members of Parliament, intensifying the speculations surrounding the session's significance, although some observers have posited that it might be related to the prospective relocation to the new parliament building.
