One soldier was killed and another was hurt in a Naxal attack in Chaibasa, Jharkhand

Two valiant soldiers hailing from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Cobra Battalion 209 found themselves caught in a harrowing ordeal when they were confronted by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion in the rugged terrain of Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district. Tragically, the outcome of this dire situation was the loss of one soldier's life, while the other sustained injuries.

The incident unfolded in the vicinity of Tumbahaka and Sarjomburu villages, where Naxalites orchestrated the detonation of the deadly IED amidst the forested hills. This sinister act resulted in the tragic demise of one dedicated soldier.

The two brave warriors, namely Inspector Bhupender and Constable Rajesh, were actively engaged in a collaborative operation aimed at countering the menace of Naxalites in the region. Their mission took a perilous turn as the explosion occurred, causing severe harm to both individuals.

Promptly following the blast, a swift response was initiated, with the soldiers being swiftly airlifted to Ranchi, where they could receive critical medical attention. Regrettably, despite the best efforts of the medical team, Constable Rajesh succumbed to the injuries sustained during the incident.

In an official statement, Jharkhand Police Inspector General (Operations) Amol Vinukant Homkar conveyed, "Today, two soldiers of CoBRA 209 got injured in the IED blast carried out by Naxalites. Inspector Bhupender and Constable Rajesh got injured and were evacuated to Ranchi by helicopter. During treatment, Rajesh succumbed to his injuries and Bhupender's condition is stable with minor injuries. A joint operation by forces is underway in the area..."

This poignant incident serves as a stark reminder of the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who stand steadfast in their commitment to safeguarding the security and tranquility of the region, even in the face of grave dangers posed by insurgents.
