The Bandra-Worli Sea Link railing was allegedly struck by the son of former BJP MLA Narendra Mehta on Saturday, according to police.
Around 7.30 a.m., Taksheel Mehta, the son of former Mira-Bhayander MLA Narendra Mehta, lost control of his expensive car as he was heading toward Worli and drove it into a railing, according to a police official.
The official reported that nobody else was hurt in the collision, despite Taksheel having mild burns on his right hand.
To avoid clogging up the road, the Worli police brought the car to the police station after the collision.
According to an official, Taksheel has been charged with violating sections 279 and 336 of the Indian Penal Code (act endangering the life, safety, or welfare of others).
