The British envoy to India, speaking to CNBC-TV18 on Monday in anticipation of the G20 summit scheduled for September 9-10 in New Delhi, expressed the challenging nature of reaching a consensus on the G20 leaders' declaration.
Alex Ellis emphasized that achieving a consensus among the G20 leaders on the declaration is expected to pose significant difficulties.
Furthermore, he underscored Britain's endorsement of India's proposal to expand the G20 by inviting additional countries to become members. This endorsement comes in the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative to advocate for the African Union's inclusion as a permanent member within the G20 framework.
