Two people were detained for providing refuge to militants in J&K's Rajouri who massacred civilians

Two people were detained by the National Investigative Agency (NIA) on Saturday for providing refuge to terrorists engaged in the shooting incident that left five people dead in the Dhangri hamlet of Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, in January of this year.

According to the NIA, the two defendants built a refuge for the terrorists on the direction of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiyaba (LeT) handlers and offered logistical support to them for more than two months.

According to a statement from the NIA, the suspects in the case, Nisar Ahmed and Mushtaq Hussain, were detained on Thursday.

On Friday, they were brought before an NIA special court in Jammu and placed in NIA custody for a period of time.

According to the NIA statement, a team of NIA officials camped in the hilly Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi districts of Jammu and Kashmir for a considerable amount of time during the investigation and examined a large number of suspicious entities before focusing on the two accused who had "provided logistics support to the terrorists for more than two months."

A day after the shooting event on January 1, an IED that the terrorists left behind before fleeing the area exploded, killing two more individuals and injuring a number of others.

The case is still being investigated further.
