Footage circulating online paints a grim picture, with numerous vehicles along the road in a state of conflagration, while firefighters heroically battled the inferno. In one of these videos, a multitude of vehicles can be seen on fire, emitting thick plumes of smoke into the sky.
According to the state-run daily al-Ahram, a staggering total of 29 vehicles were involved in this catastrophic chain of collisions, which unfolded in the town of Nubariya, situated approximately 160 kilometers (100 miles) to the north of Cairo.
A day prior to this tragic incident, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority had issued a warning about heavy fog on the highways, as per local reports.

The nation's transportation safety record is notably poor, and the causes behind these harrowing crashes and collisions are often attributed to factors such as excessive speeding, subpar road conditions, and lax enforcement of traffic regulations.
