Anju, an Indian woman, traveled to Pakistan in order to marry her friend and then return home

A 34-year-old mother from India, Anju, who has two children, embarked on a journey to a remote village in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan to marry a man she met on Facebook. After undergoing a conversion to Islam and marrying Nasrullah, she is now making preparations to return to India, pending clearance from the Pakistani government.

Back in August, Pakistan extended Anju's visa by one year, allowing her to stay in the country following her conversion and marriage to Nasrullah. Currently, they are awaiting the issuance of a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Interior Ministry in Islamabad, a process that is known to be somewhat time-consuming. Once the necessary documentation is processed for her travel in and out at the Wagah Border point, Anju will make her journey back to India.

Upon returning to India, Anju intends to reunite with her children before eventually returning to Pakistan, as she now considers it her home.

Nasrullah expressed concerns about Anju's emotional state last month, stating that she was experiencing mental distress and deeply missing her two children. The union between Anju and Nasrullah took place on July 25. They initially connected on Facebook back in 2019. Anju was previously married to Arvind, who resides in Rajasthan. They share a 15-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son.
