Chandrababu Naidu faces a new lawsuit for giving illegal liquor companies permission

As of the current situation, Chandrababu Naidu finds himself in a state of judicial custody within the confines of the Rajamahendravaram Central Prison. This predicament has arisen from allegations of financial misappropriation pertaining to the Skill Development Corporation.

In a recent development, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Andhra Pradesh has, on Monday, formally instigated yet another legal case against Chandrababu Naidu. This case is founded upon accusations of bestowing what are characterized as "unlawful permissions" to liquor companies operating within the state's borders.

Remarkably, Chandrababu Naidu has been designated as the third accused party in this particular legal affair, which also falls under the purview of the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act.

In response to this move, the CID has dutifully lodged a petition within the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court. The court, in turn, has sanctioned the CID's actions in this matter. Significantly, this marks the fourth instance in which the CID has initiated legal proceedings against the leader of the Telugu Desam Party.

It is imperative to underscore that Chandrababu Naidu is currently held in judicial custody at the Rajamahendravaram Central Prison. The allegations against him in this context are rooted in purported financial irregularities involving the Skill Development Corporation. These allegations, according to reports, have incurred a substantial financial loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state treasury.

Furthermore, on the same day, the High Court rendered decisions to dismiss three bail petitions that were submitted by the chief of the Telugu Desam Party. These petitions pertained to distinct cases initiated by the CID. Specifically, Naidu had sought regular bail in relation to the Amaravati Inner Ring Road and Angallu attack cases, in addition to filing an anticipatory bail plea in connection with the FiberNet case.

The Amaravati Inner Ring Road case hinges on allegations of manipulating the master plan of Amaravati, the capital city. These allegations extend to claims of undue alterations in the alignment of the Inner Ring Road and the seed capital, actions that were alleged to have unfairly enriched numerous companies during Naidu's tenure.

Concurrently, the Angallu case arises from the riots that unfolded during a political rally led by the TDP chief in August of the present year.

Furthermore, the FiberNet case relates to accusations of tampering with the tendering process for the award of a work order pertaining to Phase 1 of the AP FiberNet Project. This project was valued at Rs 330 crore and purportedly favored a particular company due to illicit actions.
