On Day 2 of its release, 'Tejas,' directed by Sarvesh Mewara, featuring Kangana Ranaut as the protagonist, faced the formidable challenge of not showing any growth in its box office performance. The film managed to garner Rs 1.25 crore on Day 2, which is precisely the same amount it earned on its opening day. Consequently, the total collection for 'Tejas' presently stands at Rs 2.5 crore.
The fact that Saturday is a holiday for many, and yet the film did not exhibit any significant growth, is indeed a cause for concern among the movie's stakeholders. It is hoped that the film will gain some much-needed momentum as it enters its screening on Sunday, October 29.
Recognizing the challenges faced by the film industry, Kangana Ranaut took to a popular social media platform, X, to implore audiences to experience 'Tejas' in the immersive atmosphere of theaters rather than await its release on an OTT platform.
In a video message, she ardently conveyed her sentiments, stating, "Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of theatergoers had been consistently dwindling, and post-COVID, this decline has accelerated significantly. Numerous theaters are being forced to close their doors, and even after offering free tickets and various appealing promotions, the dramatic decline in theater attendance continues. Therefore, I earnestly request the audience to choose the cinema as their preferred venue for watching films, where they can revel in the experience with their families and friends. Otherwise, our beloved theaters may struggle to survive. Thank you."
