Tax raids at the homes of two Congress leaders in Telangana prompt the party to organize a demonstration

In preparation for the upcoming Telangana Assembly election, the Income Tax department conducted search operations at the homes of two individuals: K Laxma Reddy, the Congress MLA candidate for the Maheshwaram seat, and C Parijatha Narasimha Reddy, the Mayor and Municipal Corporator of Badangpet.

According to Gouri Satish, the spokesperson for the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), these searches are viewed as a joint effort by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to undermine the morale of Congress candidates. He alleged that the BRS and the BJP are essentially operating as a single entity, emphasizing the importance of this realization for the people of Telangana.

During the Income Tax searches, Congress party supporters organized protests outside Laxma Reddy's farmhouse.

The search operations began at the residence of Badangpet Mayor Parijatha Reddy around 5 a.m. on Thursday. It's worth noting that Parijatha had previously left the BRS and joined the Congress last year. During the raids, she was reportedly in Tirupati, as reported by local media.

The Telangana Assembly election, featuring 119 seats, is scheduled for November 30, with vote counting set to take place on December 3.
