In a significant development, Odisha's Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, conducted a virtual launch of the 'Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha' (translated as 'Our Odisha, New Odisha') initiative in the regions of Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, and Malkangiri. This flagship scheme, unveiled on a Saturday, symbolizes the state government's unwavering commitment to embark on rural development projects amounting to a substantial Rs 215 crore.
The honorable Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, orchestrated the virtual commencement of the 'Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha' scheme across the three aforementioned districts. He expressed that the program's primary focus extends beyond the mere development of villages and panchayats. It also encompasses the lofty goals of promoting, preserving, and safeguarding Odisha's rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions.
Patnaik articulated that one of the pivotal goals underpinning this scheme is the enhancement of digital infrastructure. This will not only encompass providing villagers with much-needed internet connectivity but also establishing skill development centers, vibrant work hubs, and facilitating access to crucial banking services for rural communities, all part of this multifaceted initiative.
V K Pandian, the Chairman of 'Nabin Odisha' and 5T (which stands for technology-led transformative initiatives), disclosed that the 'Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha' scheme was officially launched on October 10, accompanied by a substantial budget allocation of Rs 3,397 crore. This ambitious endeavor will see the implementation of a staggering 90,723 projects within 6,794 panchayats scattered throughout the state. Each village is slated to receive an allocation of Rs 10 lakh as part of this comprehensive program, as highlighted by official sources.
