13 people killed when a powerful storm hits a coastal city in Argentina


A devastating storm has impacted Bahia Blanca along Argentina's Atlantic Coast, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 13 lives, according to the mayor, Federico Susbielles. The city, situated near the southern extremity of Buenos Aires province, a key region for Argentina's grain production, bore the brunt of the severe weather.

Mayor Federico Susbielles officially confirmed the death toll in a communication posted on X. The affected area, a vital part of Argentina's agricultural landscape, faced the destructive force of the storm that unfolded along the South American country's Atlantic coast.

President Javier Milei's office expressed condolences to the families of the victims in an official statement. Additionally, it urged locals to stay indoors until Sunday morning, emphasizing the presence of highly destructive wind gusts exceeding 150 kph in the region. This precautionary measure aims to ensure the safety of residents amid the aftermath of the powerful storm.
