In a hate crime investigation concerning an assault on a Sikh man in his late 50s in Slough, south-east England, the UK police took a significant step forward by apprehending a 14-year-old boy. This young individual was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, marking a notable development in the case. The victim, identified as Inderjit Singh within the local community, encountered the assault while strolling through Langley Memorial Park. A group of boys approached him, with one attempting to grab his beard. Subsequently, they encircled Singh, subjecting him to kicks and pulling him to the ground, resulting in three broken ribs, hand swelling, and cuts.
Post-incident, Singh received medical attention and has since been discharged from the hospital. The local Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha echoed the appeal for cooperation with law enforcement, urging anyone possessing information to come forward and aid in the investigation of this distressing hate crime.
