A man from Ukraine is shown on tape setting off grenades during a village council meeting


During a village council meeting in Ukraine on Friday, a distressing incident transpired when a Ukrainian village councilor threw hand grenades at his colleagues, resulting in one fatality and leaving 26 individuals wounded.

The appalling incident unfolded in Zakarpattia within the premises of the Keretsky village council building, as captured on camera and reported by a local Ukraine news agency.

The individual responsible for detonating the grenades is identified as a deputy of the village council, as indicated by the Ukrainian news agency Interfax.

The National Police, sharing details of the incident on its Facebook page, stated, "Today at 11.37, line 102 received a message that one of the deputies exploded grenades in the building of Keretsky Council of Mukachevo district during a session meeting." The preliminary information suggested that the detonation resulted in the death of one person, identified as the assailant, and injuries to 11 more individuals.

An updated report later indicated that 26 people suffered injuries, with six of them in serious condition. Medical professionals are actively engaged in resuscitation efforts for the individual who detonated the grenades.

The National Police emphasized that a comprehensive investigation is currently underway to delve into the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
