According to Mohan Bhagwat, Sanatana Dharma is essential to world peace and India's leadership role

New Delhi: Speaking before a congregation of saints in Haridwar, Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), underscored the pivotal role of Sanatan Dharma in fostering global peace and liberating individuals from fear. He articulated that achieving such lofty aspirations hinges on individuals' transformation from a genuine Sanatan perspective, envisioning India as a 'Vishwaguru' or world guru. Bhagwat asserted that the world looks to India, and adhering to the principles of Sanatan Dharma is imperative to meet these global expectations.

Stressing the timeless essence of Sanatan Dharma, Bhagwat highlighted its foundational principles, as elucidated in the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita—truth, compassion, sanctity, and meditation. He actively participated in the festivities commemorating Swami Avdheshanand Giri's 25-year tenure as Acharya Mahamandaleshwar at Hari Har ashram, where he accentuated the profound significance of Lord Ram as an exemplary figure embodying values, duty, responsibility, and universal welfare.

Advocating for universal brotherhood, Bhagwat championed the philosophy of 'Vasudeva Kutumbakam' (the world is one large family), emphasizing the interconnectedness of all human beings, irrespective of their religions or sects. He encouraged people to align their actions and thoughts with the welfare of others, fostering a sense of collective well-being.

Commending the spiritual, religious, and social contributions of Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri and the saint community, Bhagwat praised the selfless dedication of true saints. He noted that those working for the welfare of others do not seek self-appreciation or personal benefits, highlighting that success for noble causes comes through selfless efforts.

Swami Chidanand Saraswati, the spiritual ideologue of Parmarth Niketan ashram, echoed Bhagwat's sentiments, attributing India's resilience against external threats and its ability to absorb positive aspects from others to the enduring principles of Sanatan Dharma.

Recently, during an interactive session at Maharshi Mehi Ashram, Bhagwat urged saints to actively promote 'Sanatana Dharma,' emphasizing unity in safeguarding the tradition while addressing challenges. During his visit, a person attempted to hand him a book, causing a brief commotion, but security intervened.
