Calling the JDU meeting "an annual affair," Nitish Kumar refutes rumors of a internal rift

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar responded to rumors and speculations surrounding the Janata Dal (United) by clarifying that the party's two-day conclave in Delhi was a regular and annual event, emphasizing its routine nature. He noted that such meetings occurred annually and held no extraordinary significance.

The Chief Minister's remarks came in the context of swirling rumors, including suggestions that his key aide, Lalan Singh, might step down as the national president of the JD(U). Nitish Kumar did not provide a direct answer when asked about the possibility of Lalan Singh's formal resignation during the Delhi meetings.

Moreover, Nitish Kumar avoided addressing questions related to a potential rejoining of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Speaking alongside his deputy, Tejashwi Yadav, at a government function in Patna, the Chief Minister sought to downplay the significance of the meetings in Delhi, stating that Bihar-based parties routinely held their national executive and national council meetings in the capital.

Tejashwi Yadav also weighed in, expressing that there was nothing unusual about holding such meetings in Delhi, as his party, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), had done the same the previous year.
Lalan Singh, the JD(U) President, dismissed rumors of his resignation and attributed them to media narratives allegedly influenced by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

He echoed Nitish Kumar's statements, emphasizing that the party's meeting in Delhi was a customary and regular occurrence. In a lighthearted remark, Singh humorously suggested that if he were to resign, he would consult the media on the content of the resignation letter before submitting it, adding a touch of humor to the situation. Overall, the leaders sought to convey that the party remained united despite external speculation and that the Delhi meetings were part of their routine organizational activities.
