Children cannot celebrate Christmas in MP District schools without parental permission

In the Shajapur district of Madhya Pradesh, students wishing to partake in Christmas celebrations, including activities such as dressing up as Santa Claus or Christmas trees, are now required to obtain written consent from their parents. The directive, issued by the education officer of Shajapur district and dated December 14, stipulates that both government and private schools may face repercussions if students are found participating in Christmas-related events without parental permission.

The order underscores the necessity for students to secure written approval from their parents before engaging in any Christmas-related activities. This encompasses various roles, including dressing up as Santa Claus, Christmas trees, or any other festive character. The directive emphasizes that, under no circumstances, should students be involved in Christmas events without the explicit consent of their parents, a measure intended to avert any unforeseen situations or incidents.

Furthermore, the order explicitly warns schools of potential disciplinary consequences should any complaints arise regarding non-compliance with the requirement for parental consent. The overarching objective of this directive is to ensure a transparent and consent-driven approach to student participation in Christmas festivities, fostering a sense of responsibility and compliance within the educational institutions of the Shajapur district.
