Even if he had a gun, would still have caught him: MP who smacked an intruder from the Lok Sabha

Rashtriya Loktantrik Party MP Hanuman Beniwal played a proactive role in responding to the security breach within the Lok Sabha premises, where an intruder had entered while carrying a gas canister. Beniwal, along with other parliamentarians, physically confronted one of the intruders who attempted to rush towards the Well of the Lok Sabha.

In an exclusive interview with India Today TV's Senior Executive Editor Gaurav Sawant on Wednesday, Hanuman Beniwal asserted his commitment to taking decisive action, stating that even if the intruder had been armed with a gun, they would have intervened. Reflecting on the transient nature of life, he expressed a sentiment of having faced potential danger during the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing the obligation to protect the well-being of the people. Beniwal reiterated that preventing the intruders from reaching their intended destination was paramount.

Hanuman Beniwal further alleged that the intruders displayed a level of training, insinuating the involvement of external forces supporting them. He highlighted the coordination between the security breach within the Lok Sabha and a simultaneous protest outside Parliament, leading to the detention of two individuals.

Identifying the intruders as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D., who entered the House's chamber and released gas, and the duo outside Parliament, Anmol, and Neelam, who sprayed colored gas and shouted slogans, Beniwal underscored the need for accountability. He called for the suspension of those responsible for the security lapse and urged investigative agencies to determine the masterminds behind the incident.

Emphasizing the seriousness of the situation, Hanuman Beniwal demanded the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the House to reassure Members of Parliament that such security breaches would be effectively addressed and prevented in the future.

Beniwal also raised concerns about the lax handling of security measures in Parliament, alleging that some MPs treat it as a jest by issuing visitor passes without due diligence. He criticized the system where certain MPs could bring in a significant number of people, while others faced restrictions, characterizing it as a mockery. Notably, he highlighted that MPs took swift action to apprehend the intruder before the arrival of security personnel at the scene.
