Refuting speculations surrounding internal issues within his party, Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar asserted on Monday that there was no turmoil in the JD(U). Bihar Chief Minister Kumar stated that the party's leaders were cohesive, working collaboratively to fulfill the commitments made to the people of the state.
Addressing reporters during an event organized to commemorate the 99th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Kumar dismissed any dissatisfaction with the outcome of the opposition INDIA bloc meeting in Delhi last week. He expressed confidence that the process of finalizing seat-sharing arrangements would be concluded soon.
Responding to rumors of unrest within the JD(U), as reported by certain sections of the media quoting BJP leaders, Kumar stated, "All are united in our party—everything is well. I don't pay much attention to what they (BJP leaders) say about us. Let them say whatever they want... it does not hold any value. Our focus is solely on the overall development of the state. We have undertaken extensive development work for Bihar's comprehensive growth."
Highlighting the government's commitment to creating job opportunities for the youth, Kumar emphasized, "We had announced 10 lakh government jobs for the youth of Bihar. I want to make it clear that we will soon achieve this target—around five lakh government jobs have been provided by the Mahagathbandhan government." According to the Chief Minister, the initiatives of the Mahagathbandhan government are visibly contributing to the development of the state.
Kumar dispelled reports suggesting his dissatisfaction with the INDIA bloc meeting, asserting, "I have consistently maintained that I have no personal aspirations. My sole objective is to unite the maximum number of parties before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. I am solely working in this direction."
