In the South Waziristan region of Pakistan's northwest, specifically in Habib Kot Adana, a distressing incident unfolded resulting in critical injuries to seven women due to a mortar shell explosion. The unfortunate event occurred within the jurisdiction of the Laddha police station on Friday. The women were engaged in the collection of timber from a nearby mountain for domestic use, a common practice during severe cold weather. The mortar shell, originating from an undisclosed location, detonated forcefully, causing severe injuries to the seven women, as reported by Muhammad Shuaib, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Makeen police station. Following the incident, the injured victims were promptly transported to Razmak Hospital in Wana for medical attention. The SHO stated that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate occurrence.
