No one can halt the implementation of the CAA law of land, according to Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) is an established law in the country, and its implementation cannot be obstructed, addressing a closed-door meeting of the state BJP's social media and IT wing members at the National Library. Shah accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of providing misleading information on the CAA issue.

During the closed-door program, Shah reiterated the party's commitment to executing the CAA and expressed confidence in securing more than 35 out of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state. In the 2019 polls, the BJP secured 18 seats.

The Bengal BJP media cell released a set of highlights from Shah's speech, including his assertion that a BJP government in West Bengal after the next assembly polls would bring an end to infiltration, cow smuggling, and the implementation of the CAA to grant citizenship to religiously persecuted individuals.

Shah launched a strong critique of Banerjee for allegedly misleading the public on the CAA matter. He emphasized that the CAA is a valid law, and no one can impede its execution, reiterating the commitment of the party to the legislation.

The TMC, led by Mamata Banerjee, has consistently opposed the CAA since its passage by Parliament in 2019. The BJP, in the last Lok Sabha and Assembly polls, positioned the implementation of the CAA as a significant electoral promise, considering it a factor contributing to the party's rise in Bengal.

The CAA aims to confer Indian citizenship upon persecuted minorities, including Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and Christians from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan who entered India on or before December 31, 2014.
