Piyush Goyal is politicising the Congress as Kharge requests an adjournment of the Rajya Sabha

Union Minister and Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, Piyush Goyal, expressed his perspective on the situation, asserting that the Congress was engaging in the politicization of the security breach incident that transpired in the Lok Sabha. This occurred on a Wednesday, and the accusation arose following the plea from the Leader of the Opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge, to adjourn the Upper House in response to the incident.

Kharge conveyed to the Rajya Sabha Chairman, Jagdeep Dhankar, that the Lok Sabha had been adjourned due to the security breach, causing a sense of panic among the Members of Parliament. He urged the adjournment of the Rajya Sabha, requesting the presence of the Home Minister to provide additional details regarding the unsettling occurrence.

In response to Kharge's plea, Piyush Goyal contended that the Lok Sabha's adjournment was a result of the Opposition's actions. He emphasized that the Rajya Sabha, being the "House of Elders," should send a message that the strength of the country transcends such incidents. Goyal maintained that the proceedings of the House should continue and expressed his belief that Congress was politicizing the situation, deeming it an unfavorable message for the nation.

Additionally, the Union Minister highlighted that an inquiry into the security breach had already been initiated. He insisted that the proceedings in the Rajya Sabha should proceed smoothly despite the incident.

The security breach itself involved two individuals, Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan, who entered the Lok Sabha chamber carrying gas canisters, causing chaos and panic among the Members of Parliament. The duo, situated in the visitors' gallery, released yellow-colored smoke in the House. Furthermore, two protesters, Neelam (42) and Amol Shinde (25) were detained outside Parliament for protesting with cans emitting yellowish smoke.
