Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is essentially following in the footsteps of Rahul Gandhi. Following the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) revelation of chief ministerial selections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, Chowdhury took a critical stance, contending that Modi is emulating the path laid out by Rahul Gandhi.
Chowdhury claimed that the resonance between the statements and initiatives of Rahul Gandhi and the subsequent actions of Prime Minister Modi is noteworthy. Specifically, he pointed to the instance where Rahul Gandhi advocated for a caste census, and subsequently, the BJP appointed Chief Ministers in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh with a careful consideration of caste equations. According to Chowdhury, this synchronization indicates Modi's alignment with the approach advocated by Rahul Gandhi.
The Congress leader highlighted the perceived influence of Rahul Gandhi's statements on Prime Minister Modi, suggesting that whenever Rahul expresses a viewpoint or proposes a course of action, Modi tends to adopt and implement it. Chowdhury emphasized the idea that Modi's responses and policy directions appear to be shaped by the positions taken by Rahul Gandhi.
The recent appointments of Chief Ministers further fueled Chowdhury's argument. In Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, identified as a tribal leader, was designated as Chief Minister, reinforcing the BJP's emphasis on demographic representation. In Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, an OBC leader, was selected, reflecting the party's acknowledgment of the OBC population's significance. Meanwhile, in Rajasthan, the party picked Bhajan Lal Sharma, a Brahmin leader, as the Chief Minister.
The swearing-in ceremonies for the Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh are scheduled for December 13, while Bhajan Lal Sharma is set to take the oath as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan on December 15. The sequencing of these events aligns with the larger narrative put forth by Chowdhury, emphasizing the perceived correlation between Rahul Gandhi's pronouncements and the subsequent actions taken by the BJP-led government, reinforcing the idea that Modi is treading the path carved out by Rahul Gandhi.
