Six cars collided on the Agra Expressway, killing one and injuring several more as a result of dense fog

In the early hours of Wednesday, a severe accident unfolded on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Unnao, triggered by dense fog, resulting in one fatality and causing injuries to at least 24 individuals, as reported by the Uttar Pradesh Police.

The incident transpired when poor visibility due to dense fog led to a major collision involving six vehicles. A double-decker bus, losing control amidst the limited visibility, collided with the central divider, setting off a chain reaction of rear-end crashes involving several other vehicles.

Regrettably, one passenger on the bus succumbed to injuries at the accident site. Approximately 24 other passengers suffered significant injuries and were promptly transported to the Community Health Centre for initial medical attention. Six individuals in critical condition were subsequently referred to the Trauma Center in Lucknow for specialized care.

Emergency response teams, alongside law enforcement, were swiftly deployed to the scene, actively engaged in clearing wreckage and extending assistance to the injured. An investigation is underway to ascertain the precise cause of this unfortunate accident.

It's noteworthy that this incident occurred on a day characterized by a dense fog enveloping substantial regions of northern India, resulting in visibility plummeting to near-zero levels.
