Tragedy struck on NH 186 in Telangana's Nalgonda district as a 19-year-old man lost his life when he was struck by a bike in adverse weather conditions marked by fog. This unfortunate incident was compounded by another devastating accident involving the man's family, resulting in a total of five casualties. The dual road mishaps occurred due to poor visibility caused by the foggy conditions prevalent in the region, as reported by the police on Monday.
The initial accident unfolded in Vempahad on Sunday night, claiming the lives of two individuals, including a pedestrian, due to the challenging visibility conditions. In this incident, Nagaraju (28) collided with Ramawat Keshav (19) while the latter was walking, leading to both of them meeting a tragic end on the spot.
Adding to the sorrow, when the family of Ramawat Keshav learned about this distressing accident, they set out towards the site. However, their journey took a catastrophic turn as their Tata Ace vehicle collided with an oil tanker near Parvathipuram amid the persisting fog. This secondary accident resulted in three fatalities on the spot, with the victims identified as Ramawat Pandu (40), Ramawat Ganya (40), and Ramawat Bujji (38), according to the police. Furthermore, four other occupants of the Tata Ace were left in critical condition.
All five individuals who lost their lives in these tragic incidents hailed from Mallevani Kunta Thanda village. The bodies of the deceased were subsequently transferred to Miryalaguda Government Hospital for postmortem examination, marking a somber chapter in the community's history.
