A man detained after threatening to "blow up" Ram Mandir while posing as a Dawood Ibrahim aide

In Bihar's Araria district, a 21-year-old individual named Intekhab Alam has been apprehended for allegedly impersonating an associate of underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim in a call to the police. During the call made on January 19 to the emergency helpline number 112, Alam, who was subsequently arrested from his residence in Balua Kaliyaganj late on Saturday, claimed to be "Chhota Shakeel," a purported aide of Dawood Ibrahim. In this deceptive call, he issued a threat to "blow up" the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22.

Araria Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Kumar Singh disclosed that Alam, upon investigation, appeared to be mentally unstable. Although lacking a criminal record, his misleading call prompted authorities to treat the matter with utmost seriousness. Given the sensitivity surrounding the impending 'Pran Pratishtha' (consecration) ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, a case was promptly registered, and the police confiscated Alam's phone.

Upon receiving the call, details were expeditiously shared with the cyber cell, revealing that the mobile number used by Alam was registered in his father's name, as reported by PTI. The 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony is anticipated to attract a significant gathering, with over 7,000 individuals, including politicians, prominent business figures, celebrities, and sports personalities expected to attend. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to be present for the event, conducting the rituals at the Ram Temple, which will subsequently be accessible to the public from the following day.
